Hello. I'm a web developer in Hull and director of web agency Strawberry.

Photos from Empire Strikes Back

For a Star Wars geek, these are just awesome. Time for bed, Luke....

HTML5 - You can use it now folks...

A great (ranty) post by Remy Sharp on why you can use HTML5 today. It's in response to a post elsewhere on this Internet lark.

http://remy.tumblr.com/post/1261575750/hold-off-on-deploying-html5-in-websites

In summary:

"Hold off on deploying HTML5 in websites"

I’m calling bullshit

He then goes on to explain why. Get it read!

No excuse for messy CSS files

Really like this little tool for tidying up your CSS files - http://procssor.com/

You shouldn't really need it but the reality is some developers do - and it also means that developers can code as they like and apply a house style and format to their stylesheet files after the event. Not the right way of doing things really but a neat little tool nonetheless.

eCommerce Lessons - Free Shipping matters....

Interesting (US based) article but I think it reinforces some of the things we've been telling our clients for a while now.

We have run a couple of tests where we charged for shipping, but we found our conversion rate went down. I don’t recall the exact decrease, but it was enough to make us switch back to free shipping in a hurry

Great album but she's pushing her luck.....

(This post has links to Spotify - if you've not got it, you should have www.spotify.com)

I've been listening to Melody Gardot's latest album on a recommendation of a jazz loving mate of mine. Very good it is too.

However, can anyone else hear her casting doubts on my work ethic? Something has been lost in translation here me thinks....

All sing along now:

"Lazy Twat, Lazy Twat....."

Melody Gardot – Les Etoiles

Photoshoot at the KC Stadium - great weather for ducks....

Was at the KC Stadium (my church) this morning - a few iPhone shots of Nick (from R&R Studios) and the pitch - which was still in Rugby mode from Saturday but the process of changing it ready for the Villa game on Wednesday was well under way.

Quick summary - it was wet and I looked pretty *

* may not be true.

Photo on Flickr - taken with a LightScoop

The Boy

I might not be the best photographer in the world but I like this one a lot - taken with my LightScoop attached to my DSLR.

Go get a LightScoop - use "SPRING" to get 25% off. I missed out on the coupon but they're arranging a refund. Genuinely first class customer service as well as being lovely people; I can't recommend them enough.

Not an off camera flash replacement (I've one of those coming too), but handy in the right circumstances. I love it.
